Position Specific Description
Candidates should be able to complete complex engineering tasks that require relevant experience and use of technical engineering principles. This job is responsible for performing engineering activities that support projects and operations across the nuclear business.Employees in this role apply civil structural experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations. Individuals work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development. The selected candidate will prepare engineering documentation and ensure procured materials and services meet engineering specifications. Applicants should have experience developing scope, design criteria, and engineering analysis toward completion of large projects.

Applicants should also be able to apply nuclear regulations and standards to work assignments as well as use computer models to develop and study solution feasibility
Engineering Design experience
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Performs complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with design codes, nuclear industry standards and regulations
Applies standards and regulations to solve new problems, and address existing technical challenges
Plans and coordinates engineering activities under general guidance
Performs engineering and analytical tasks to develop reliable, cost effective recommendations
Ensures procured materials and services meet engineering specifications
Consults with peer engineers to ensure that solutions meet plant design
Uses advanced computer models to develop and study solution feasibility
Prepares engineering documentation, and assists with technical support for licensing and other regulatory proceedings
Leads discussions in a group setting to resolve problems or coordinate design production
Provides direction to less-experienced engineers and technicians
Acts as a liaison to interfacing departments including work planning, maintenance, operations, and Fleet level organizations
Support Emergency Response Organization as assigned
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
