Description

This Analyst/Senior Analyst position is part of the Regulatory Exam Lifecycle Management (RELM or ‘the Team’) in Global Risk and Compliance (‘GRC’).

RELM supports the end-to-end lifecycle of US regulatory exams, ongoing supervision, and remediation of regulatory findings – responsibilities that are central to the safety and soundness of American Express. Within RELM, the Regulatory Risk Management (RRM) team focuses on exam readiness for novel and complex exams, leads the annual Regulatory Exam Control & Compliance process, delivers colleague training, and performs data analysis to drive insights on exams and regulatory findings. RRM also manages RELM’s operational excellence and risk management-related efforts as well as ad hoc projects.

Job Responsibilities:

The RRM Analyst/Senior Analyst will become a Subject Matter Expert on the data generated during regulatory exams and findings to deliver effective reporting to various stakeholder groups. The position will also support the RRM Director in risk management-related activities and various exam/findings-related deliverables.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering across the RELM team to understand exam activity and outcomes

  • Maintaining RELM’s Tableau repository

  • Updating and creating Tableau reports to support reporting to various stakeholders

  • Assisting in the preparation of Control Rating, Committee, Business Unit, and other reporting

  • Analyzing exam data to provide business partners advanced insights and information to drive exam and remediation strategy

  • Conducting quality control on key regulatory deliverables, in partnership with US Regulatory Relations

  • Supporting other risk management-related efforts and exam/findings-related deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Highly collaborative, with ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail, sense of follow-through, and accountability.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities

  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable communications

  • Adept with Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on MS PowerPoint and Excel

  • Experience with Tableau a plus

  • Willingness to become a Tableau developer

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
