Position Summary:
The respiratory therapy assistant is responsible for processing respiratory therapy equipment and providing basic assistance to therapist by performing routine tasks under supervision of Respiratory Therapist. Provides assistance to Respiratory Therapist by stocking RT service areas with equipment and supplies, cleaning of equipment, low flow 02 rounds, blood gas sampling, data collection, etc.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS H.S. Diploma/GED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Customer service experience preferred.
Essential Functions:
Cleaning and processing of respiratory equipment
Stocking and organizing supplies and equipment for inpatient respiratory care areas
Complete standard low flow o2 rounds and oximetry for all inpatient respiratory therapy areas.
Help with data collection and process improvement data collection.
Help oversee inventory of respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
Assist with cleaning and stocking respiratory care equipment, stocking patient care areas with proper RT equipment, monitoring of monthly airway boxes inpatient and aiding in help of needs of inpatient respiratory therapists with general pateint care needs.
