Senior Software Development Engineer (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership:
  • Guide architectural decisions, ensuring they align with best practices and project requirements.

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools, and evaluate their potential application in projects.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in specific technologies or domains.

    1. Software Development:
  • Design and develop complex software solutions, including system architecture, components, and interfaces.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.

  • Implement unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of the software.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software products.

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure smooth project progress.

  • Optimize application performance and scalability through code refactoring and performance tuning.

    1. API Development and Integration:
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with other systems and services.

  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for API security.

  • Ensure API documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and up to date, using tools like Swagger or OpenAPI.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers to design API endpoints that meet application requirements.

  • Implement API versioning strategies to ensure backward compatibility and smooth upgrades.

  • Monitor API performance and usage metrics, optimizing as necessary for scalability and efficiency.

    1. Project Management:
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Estimate development efforts accurately and provide input for project planning and resource allocation.

  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and address potential risks and issues.

  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure timely delivery of features and milestones.

  • Participate in Agile or other project management methodologies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

    1. Communication and Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into understandable language.

    1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the development workflow.

  • Advocate for the adoption of best practices, tools, and technologies to improve team productivity and software quality.

  • Provide constructive feedback and participate in performance evaluations of team members.

  • Invest in personal and professional development, staying updated with industry trends and acquiring new skills.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Typical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Extensive experience in software development (5+ years) with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Java, Kotlin, Groovy, JSON, Scala, Ion-bash, Python Scripting, Version Control.

  • Knowledge of IDE systems such as IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio Code, etc.

  • Experience with relational databases like MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.

  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line interface (CLI) for development and deployment tasks.

  • Core experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or similar, including knowledge of cloud services and deployment practices.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $170,000 (depending on experience)
