Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Supply Management Specialist in Warren, Michigan

About the Position: This position is with the ILSC, Supply Chain Integration Directorate Order Management Division Non-Army Managed Items Branch located in Warren, Michigan. Responsibilities Provides oversight and guidance for distribution discrepancies between wholesale and storage site records. Works in close coordination with storage location personnel worldwide to ensure supply discrepancies are resolved within regulatory timeframes. Interprets regulations and procedures applicable to supply and inventory management and advises customers concerning supply policy and practices. Identifies trends and recommends courses of action. Responds to requests for information and inquiries from higher headquarters. Prepares for audits. Gathers and validates causative research in response to audit results and provides to AMC HQs. Investigates supply transactions to determine causes for imbalances and discrepancies. Oversees and processes transactions to include stock transfers orders, disposals, rejects/failed intermediate documents, blocked orders, and other distribution transactions in the wholesale system Serves as the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC’s) Supply Representative automated logistics system utilization; advises and trains Distribution personnel on new processes. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) utilizing automated supply systems to provide oversight and guidance for supply discrepancies; (2) Working with internal/external customers to resolve supply/distribution discrepancies in a timely manner; (3) Interpreting regulations and procedures relating to supply management; and (4) gathering and reporting supply metrics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Inventory Management Problem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
