Role objective:
As a Welch Equipment Field Technician your goal will be to provide exceptional customer service by performing a range of mechanic services. i.e., general scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures, performing factory modifications and additions, as well as new and used equipment installs. Having a mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and customer service background/understanding is beneficial in this roll to be best fitted. Not having all the different backgrounds is not a deal breaker. A field technician will have to be able to disassemble and reassemble equipment with confidence while keeping the customer site and work area clean, safe, and organized.

- Shift: 8 hour shift with overtime available
- Compensation: $24-$36 per hour
Daily activities include but not limited to:
- Reporting to work on time for your scheduled days and working a full shift
- Scheduling your days with your dispatch and customer base
- Driving a company provided vehicle to and from your place of residence to your customer sites.
- Keeping the company provided vehicle clean and presentable, as well as keeping your tools, company tools, and inventory clean and organized.
- Performing routine scheduled maintenance on a variety of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Recommending and making the repairs found during the routine scheduled maintenance.
- Issuing parts from your van inventory to the customer work orders and keeping track of your inventory.
- Taking service calls and performing diagnostics and repairs, utilizing technical skills such as engine and transmission diagnostics/repairs, mechanical skills and testing, electrical testing and repairs, hydraulic diagnostics, and repairs, Braking adjustment/inspections, and repairs, software updates, calibrations, and parameters setup, and failed component replacements.
- Reporting diagnostic findings to the customer, sometimes having to get equipment and parts information to the quoting department if the client is requesting a quote, and of course scheduling these repairs with the customer and dispatch.
Qualifications:
- Legal to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license
- Drug screening
- Requires strong instructional skills, both in giving and receiving.
- Ability to effectively demonstrate how to diagnose and troubleshoot specific technical problems.
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Requires flexibility to adapt to varying workloads and environments.
- Possess sound work ing knowledge of basic DC and AC electricity, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic systems.
