Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineer in Wilsonville, Oregon

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer at our facility in Wilsonville, OR. Relocation assistance provided for eligible candidates.

In this role, you will drive process improvement support for production and front office operations by using Continuous Improvement tools to analyze processes and initiate projects that will improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Costs. You will work with cross functional teams and provide training of Lean concepts to other personnel.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Assume full responsibility of interrelated functions, facilities, products, or activities and provide assistance to line and staff personnel in order to develop solutions for product and manufacturing problems for a complete line of apparatus utilizing Lean Continuous Flow concepts to reduce the cycle time, improve the efficiency, and simplify the work content of product line processes.

  • Perform analysis and reviews to support Eaton Lean Tools. Analysis may include observation studies, times studies, capability studies, set up reduction studies, GEMBA walks, and 5S+ Site Audit, Standard Work development and process check implementation.

  • Assist in training and development of personnel by delegating portions of projects to others participating with the project. Assemble, verify, and analyze the results of projects, prepare reports and present findings.

  • Participate in and lead improvement events (RIE, BPI, 3P) comprised of multi-functional team members. Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes, site maps and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability. Evaluate technical proposals and the results of analytical, experimental or design studies.

  • Participate in Tier meetings, GEMBA walks, CI Council meetings, Employee Idea program to identify improvement opportunities and work with operations and management to ensure successful completion of projects.

  • Utilize Eaton Lean and Quality tools to design, develop, justify, and guide the installation of new engineering concepts, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems through appropriate procedures to drive cost reduction and support the startup and launch of capital projects.

  • Support teams in achievement of objectives and commitment to drive continuous improvement culture through project support and implementation with the operations team.

  • Effectively interact in a matrix environment that includes teams made up of people from Operations, IT, OPEX, Engineering, Sales, HR, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain.

  • Continuously enhance personal skills and knowledge of the subject matters pertaining to the operations initiatives, through networking, education, and training.

  • Other duties, projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum three (3) years work experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Black Belt or Green Belt Certification

  • Understanding of PFMEA process

  • ProLaunch SPS

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering problem solving and quality techniques.

  • Possess a sound understanding of production, inventory, financial principles, and working knowledge of Eaton Lean Six Sigma, Eaton Quality Management System and Just – in – Time manufacturing methods.

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) CAD, PowerBI, MiniTab

  • Working knowledge of the Environment Management System (EMS) and an awareness of all environmental aspects associated with or located in his/her respective department, or section, or area of control.
