Total Fire Protection, Inc. Assistant Project Manager in Woodbury, New York

As an Assistant Project Manager at Total Fire Protection, you will oversee the scheduling and dispatch operations to ensure efficient allocation of resources and timely service delivery. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a team of schedulers/dispatchers, develop scheduling strategies, and optimize processes to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of scheduling principles in a service-oriented environment.

Assist the Fire Alarm Project Manager in planning and coordinating projects from start to finish, including preparing project schedules, managing project budgets, and overseeing the project's day-to-day operations. Coordinate with stakeholders such as clients, building managers, fire officials, and installation crews to ensure smooth execution of the project. Assist in the review of system designs, blueprints, and installation plans to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements, codes, and standards. Help manage the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for each project. Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise, ensuring work is completed within the designated timeframe. Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the project, including reporting on project status to the Fire Alarm Project Manager. Participate in job site visits to ensure quality control, code compliance, and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain up-to-date records for all projects, including project files, documentation, reports, and correspondences. Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and procedures. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and changes in fire and life safety regulations.

Qualifications: Associate or bachelors degree in project management, Engineering, or a related field. Prior experience in the fire alarm industry or a similar field is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, NFPA codes, and other relevant safety regulations. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to travel to different project sites as needed. Physical Requirements: The job may require moderate physical labor including activities such as lifting equipment, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces.
